Overview

The Quaide Milleth International Academy of Media Studies (QIAMS) is dedicated to the task of producing dynamic and socially conscious media professionals for the digital era.

The Master Diploma in Journalism & Communication* course is spread over two semesters, The Journalism curriculum at QIAMS is designed to prepare students for the rapid changes taking place in the field of media which is undergoing tremendous transformation. The digital platform and the Internet offer new avenues for dissemination of information as well as huge opportunities to those who are creatively inclined. The course at QIAMS is flexible, contemporary, and taught by active media professionals with the help of state-of-the-art technology labs.

Eligibility

Any Bachelor’s Degree (Candidates who are yet to write their undergraduate degree examination as well as those awaiting the results of their undergraduate examination are eligible to apply).

Enrolled students should provide their mark sheet or degree certificate to the Dean ideally within the first week of commencement of classes. However, since the undergraduate exam results are likely to be delayed, more time may be given for submission of the certificates. All students awaiting their examination results should provide their degree certificate latest by the end of February 2021.

Application Procedure

The application form may either be submitted ONLINE or DOWNLOAD and completed. Application whether online or hard copy will need to be sent along with an application fee of Rs 708/- (inclusive of GST @ 18%). The fee can be remitted as an online transfer or sent as a Demand Draft in favour of “Quaide Milleth Educational & Social Trust”, payable at Chennai. Please ensure that the full name, email id and mobile number of the applicant accompany the payment. In the case of online transfer the applicant, please make a NEFT transfer and mail us with the electronic receipt to admission@qiams.in

Dates mentioned above are subject to change depending on the situation. The start of the academic year 2020-21 will be suitably deferred to after the undergraduate degree examination is held by universities across India and will be based on the government directive to open educational institutions.

Fees

Tuition fees for the Master Diploma in Journalism & Communication programme is INR 82,600/-inclusive of Goods & Services Tax (GST) @18% (Rs 70,000 + Rs.12,600)

This fee is to be paid in two equal instalments, with sufficient intervals of 6 months duration. The dates for paying the instalments would be announced based on the government directive to open educational institutions.

Scholarship

QIAMS offers scholarships on a merit-cum-means basis to students seeking and qualifying for them. It must be indicated clearly in the application if the student requires a scholarship. The full and partial scholarships cover tuition fees and, in special cases, living expenses. Please submit proof of family income as stated in the application form.

Accommodation

Accommodation for students will be arranged in nearby private hostels. The hostels based on their comfort are available from Rs 5,000/- and more onwards along with food. The cost has to be borne by the student.

Please note that no request for refund of fees will be entertained. Once a candidate is admitted the seat allotted to him or her stands filled. Please note that fees once paid will not be refunded even if the candidate does not join the course
